Alex Zah

"The paradox of change is that change occurs when one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not."

— Arnold Beisser, Gestalt Therapy Theory

My practice is dedicated to Expats, Entrepreneurs and Digital Nomads in Valencia who have mastered the external world but seek to restore their internal ground.

About Me

Alex Zah
Gestalt Psychotherapist

I operate an independent private practice in Valencia, serving the international English-speaking community.

My background is unique: before training as a psychotherapist, I spent a decade in high-performance environments and lived as a digital nomad across 20 countries. I understand the specific anxieties of the expat lifestyle—the displacement, the lack of roots, and the pressure to "be happy" in a new country.

I do not offer quick fixes or "hacks." I offer a clinical space where we can slow down and examine the root causes of your burnout, loneliness, or lack of meaning.

My Qualifications
  • Gestalt Institute of Scandinavia (GIS): Advanced clinical training (EAGT & EAP certified program).
  • Escuela Europea de Coaching (Madrid): Certified Executive Coach (ICF Level 2).
  • NeuroLeadership Institute (UK): Brain-Based Coaching Certificate™.

Shared Experiences

"I was not happy with my life."

"I was constantly under stress, analysing and overthinking everything. Alex guided me to reconnect with myself... making decisions became significantly easier."

Gabriel Zambrano Innovation and creativity advisor

"The result was deep peace."

"One key lesson was learning to say no. As my business grew, I realized saying yes to everything was unsustainable. Alex's supportive approach felt like guidance from a mentor and friend."

Bogdan Danchuk Founder of Easily Global

"In my opinion, his sincerity and experience offer great insights that help me see my future as an entrepreneur more clearly. Additionally, his guidance saves me from making many mistakes, gives me plenty of ideas, and most importantly, he inspires me."

"I always say that once you become aware of the root cause of your problem (instead of just its symptoms), you have done more than 50% of the work to solve it. Alex's approach is exactly this - to find the root cause, to focus on what lies beneath the symptoms."

"Alex really help me evolve as an entrepreneur! He is super supportive and every point he directs you come from experience. I highly recommend working with Alex if you want to grow as an entrepreneur and as a person!"

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Gestalt Psychotherapy and how does it work?
I am training in Gestalt psychotherapy, an integrative approach rooted in humanistic and existential values. Gestalt therapy combines insights from developmental psychology, attachment theory, psychodrama, trauma work, and field theory and focuses on present‑moment awareness and the relational field.
Do you offer therapy in English?
Yes. I offer therapy in English, Hebrew, and Russian. If English isn’t your first language, don’t worry; therapy is about meaning and connection, not perfect grammar. We can find the language that makes you feel most at ease.
How many sessions are needed, and how long does therapy last?
Therapy isn’t a quick fix. Some people work through a specific issue in a few months, while others choose long‑term exploration. Individual sessions last 60 minutes and are usually scheduled weekly or bi‑weekly.
What are your therapy fees and session costs?
My fees are transparent and reflect the costs of supervision, continuous training, and professional practice. My fee is 150 euros per session.
Why is therapy expensive? (Understanding the value)
The session fee reflects more than the hour we spend together. It covers ongoing training and supervision, professional accreditation fees, therapy for the therapist (required to maintain ethical practice), rental of a confidential space, insurance, accounting, and the tools needed to run a compliant practice.
How can I book a session, and is there a waiting list?
You can book a free diagnostic call via the button above. If there is availability, we can start within two weeks; otherwise, you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted as soon as a space opens. Life happens, so if you need to reschedule, please let me know 48 hours in advance.
Do you work with expats, digital nomads, or locals?
Although my practice is tailored to the challenges that expats, entrepreneurs, and digital nomads face—such as cross‑cultural stress, identity loss, and loneliness—I also work with locals and long‑term residents who resonate with my approach. The core of our work is reconnecting with yourself and living from an authentic place.
Is therapy confidential and private?
Yes. I am bound by the ethical codes of the Gestalt Institute and professional organizations. Everything you share remains confidential unless there is a clear and imminent risk to your safety or someone else’s—only then am I legally obliged to act.
